 I loved this creepy mashup of noir fiction and cosmic horror! The character names were fun and inventive. This short story oozed atmosphere and visceral imagery. I couldn't put it down!

Keeping My Sisters' Secrets by Beezy Marsh

 

 The inspiring and captivating story of three impoverished sisters who grew up in London during the 30s and 40s. Marsh really made the time period and setting came alive for me. The level of detail is outstanding! It was beautiful to see to how the bond between the sisters was never broken. 

 

The Final Flash by Andre Gonzalez

 

 A terrifying short story of a night in the woods gone horribly wrong. This book was really suspenseful and action packed. This is one that can't be missed.

Humbug: Twisted Tales of Familiar Faces by Andre Gonzalez

 

 A fun and twisted version of A Christmas Carol! Andre Gonzalez, never disappoints! I really liked the twist at the end.

What The Woods Took by Courtney Gould

 

I loved this creepy, suspenseful and intense read! The description of the woods was really visceral and unnerving. Definitely not for the faint of heart. This is the type of book which keeps your eyes glued to the page.

Trouble Island by Sharon Short

 

 The level of detail that Short put into her novel made the setting and time period come alive. I was riveted from page one. I loved this exciting, harrowing and suspenseful read!

Cult Of The Lamb: Vol. 1: The First Verse by Alex Paknadel and Tory Little

 

 I loved this entertaining graphic novel! It helped to add context to events within the game and to flesh out its characters. I can't wait to read Vol. 2!

I Think We've Been Here Before by Suzy Krause

 

I loved this thought provoking and poignant post apocalyptic read. It was interesting to see how each character handled the months leading up to the end of the world. I questioned how I would have reacted if I was in their place. The ending was very moving.

The Sunflower House by Adriana Allegri

 

 I loved this moving, beautiful and tragic read. Allegri put an incredible amount of research into this story and it shows. This is the type of book which will stay with the reader long after they turn the final page.

 I loved this heartwarming, quirky and fun romance! Realistic characters lent an air of authenticity to the story. I would highly recommend it.

The Lake of Lost Girls by Katherine Greene

 

 This twist filled and suspenseful read kept my eyes glued to the page. Dual timelines kept the story from losing momentum. I was shocked by all that was revealed at the end of the story. Katherine Greene never disappoints.

You Can't Hurt Me by Emma Cook

 

I loved this suspenseful read! The reader is a spectator to all of Anna's shocking discoveries. The book builds to a very satisfying conclusion.

The Black Feathers by Rebecca Netley

 

I loved this suspenseful and moving Gothic thriller. The foreboding atmosphere of Guardbridge really helped to set the tone. Annie was such a sympathetic character. The shocking twists towards the end took me by surprise. This is one read that you won't want to miss.

The Debutantes by Olivia Worley

 

 I really enjoyed this suspenseful and action packed read. None of the characters were one dimensional. I especially loved the shocking twists during the last half of the book.

 A fascinating look into the use of bacteriophages as weapons in the fight against antibiotic resistant infections. The information was presented in a clear, concise way and was very well researched. I thoroughly enjoyed every page.

A Dark And Secret Magic by Wallis Kinney

 

 I was utterly enchanted by this delightful book! The story had the perfect blend of magick, witches, Halloween and romance. I wish that I could step into the world that Kinney created. This is one read that can't be missed.

One Big Happy Family by Susan Mallery

 

 I loved this heartwarming and funny read! There was a good mix of characters at the cabin which kept things interesting. There were parts which made me laugh out loud. This was a real page turner.

Dead Girls Don't Cry (Staycation Series Book 1.5) by RJ Clark

 

A crazy, gory, and fun short story in the Staycation universe! The girls in this story were so twisted. I can't wait to read the final book in the trilogy!

From an Umbrian Farmhouse to Como's Quiet Shores( Book 3 in the Someday Travels series) by EJ Bauer

 

Another excellent book in the Someday Travels series! I love how Bauer's descriptions help me to really gain a sense of the character of each place she visits. I really enjoy finding out about the people she meets, the food she eats and all she experiences. I eagerly look forward to each new addition to this wonderful series!

Lenny Marks Gets Away With Murder by Kerryn Mayne

 

 It was impossible not to fall in love with Lenny! I was easily drawn into her world. The sad parts were well balanced with the humorous. I couldn't put this book down.

The Midnight Club by Margot Harrison

 

 I loved everything about this book from the characters, to the setting and the idea of being able to relive past memories. The alternating viewpoints shifting from past to present helped the story keep its momentum. A must read!

Counting Miracles by Nicholas Sparks

 

I loved this moving story of tragedy, connection, hope and love. A beautiful story with sympathetic and engaging characters. I couldn't put this book down! I would love to see a movie adaptation of this book!

Who Haunts You by Mark Wheaton

 

I loved this book from start to finish! The main character was very endearing and I really enjoyed the deep dive into her psyche. The twists surprises me in the most delightful way. Very well done.

The Night Guest by Hildur Knutsdottir, translated by Mary Robinette Kowal

 

 I loved this book all the way through up until the ending. The final few pages did nothing to explain exactly what was going on. I was left with so many unanswered questions and felt very disappointed.

Devil's Island by Midge Raymond and John Yunker

 

This read was intense, suspenseful and impossible to put down. The detailed descriptions of the island really helped to set the tone. I loved the unexpected twists towards the end.

One House Left by Vincent Ralph

 

 I really enjoyed this slow burn YA horror read. Most of the action happens in the final part of the book. I liked the characters and that they had an urban legend club. I was shocked by all of the twists especially the ones near the end. Be patient with this book because the payoff at the end is worth it.

Mysterious Ways by Wendy Wunder

 

 I loved this book from start to finish! This was a really fun and emotional story that was a joy to read. It was interesting to explore the complexity of Maya's psyche. Impossible to put down and one you won't want to miss. 

Strange Folk by Alli Dyer

 

 Magical realism at its finest! This book is about the powerful bond of family and the appreciation of one's heritage. I adored the setting, the characters and the descriptions of the natural world. A wonderful story which will grab a hold of you and won't let go. 

Never Look Back(Jonny Mendez Series #1) by Andre Gonzalez

 

 I loved this wonderful introduction to Jonny Mendez! Jonny is a tough guy with a heart of gold. My eyes were glued to the page. The perfect blend of action, suspense and humor. I can't wait to read Jonny's next adventure! Andre Gonzalez never disappoints.

The Outlier by Elisabeth Eaves

 

I enjoyed this book for the most part. The main character was interesting with a fascinating backstory. The setting was awe inspiring. The story became sluggish towards the end. I didn't find the resolution that interesting.

 What an exciting, intense and suspenseful read! This is the type of book which keeps the reader guessing. Very well done!

The Blonde Dies First by Joelle Wellington

 

I loved this wild read! As a horror fan, I really enjoyed all of references to different horror tropes. The relationship between the characters was very entertaining. Such a cool concept!

The Days I Loved You Most by Amy Neff

 

I adored this beautiful, emotional and moving read! The love Joseph and Evelyn share is a love story for the ages. It was pure joy to travel with them throughout the decades. The last few chapters were so touching and made me cry. This debut is a shining beacon in the darkest of nights.

This book was exciting, suspenseful and full of twists. The story and a varied cast of characters kept my eyes glued to the page. An excellent read.

 

The Backtrack by Erin La Rosa

 

I adored this heartfelt, moving and fun read! I loved the characters and that music played such a pivotal role in the story. This is the type of book that will put a smile on your face.

On The Surface by Rachel McGuire

 

 This book was a slow burn with a big payoff later on. Sawyer and Dani are fascinatingly complex characters. This story is very well crafted and well executed. The twists were very shocking. I won't say anything more about this exciting read in order to avoid spoilers.

Bad Tourists by Caro Carver

 

This book was suspenseful, action packed, and full of twists. A big revelation in the second half of the story shocked me. I can't say enough good things about this read.

Made For You by Jenna Satterthwaite

 

 I loved this intense and suspenseful read! Julia was such a fascinating and complex character. The twists were really shocking. There were no slow parts and I really enjoyed the sci-fi elements.

The Love of My Afterlife by Kristy Greenwood

 

 This feel good romantic comedy read made me laugh out loud many times. I can't remember the last time that I have done so while reading a book. The characters are wonderful and the entire story flows together really well. This is one novel that you won't want to miss!

Lockdown( Staycation Series #2) By RJ Clark

I loved this crazy ride of a read! The world of Staycation was expanded in many unexpected ways. Echoes of Stephen King and Dean Koontz are evident throughout. This book is impossible to put down. I can't wait to find out what's going to happen in book 3!

This read was outstanding! There was plenty of action, drama, and suspense. This novel was full of surprising twists. You won't be able to put it down.

 This was the perfect summer read! It was easy to get caught up in life at The Saint. Full of drama, romance, fun, and twists. I couldn't get enough of this book!

Cuckoo by Gretchen Felker-Martin

 

 Wow, this book was really intense, disturbing and wonderful! It contains echoes of It and The Thing. I felt a lot of sympathy for the main characters. There is a fair amount of gore so not for the faint of heart. Very well done.

Annie LeBlanc Is Not Dead Yet by Molly Morris

 

This romance was really fun to read. I loved the setting and all of the main characters! There were many parts which made me laugh and smile. The ending was really heartwarming.

 I loved the small cast of characters and the isolated setting in this book! It was fun to try to figure out the killer's identity. This book was really suspenseful, twist filled and was impossible to put down.

I loved this thrilling and twist filled read! Eva, Rose and Jules were such complex and fascinating characters. The isolation of the setting really helped to increase suspense. This is a book that you won't be able to put down.

Someone Saw Something by Rick Mofina

 

Wow, this book was a real page turner! It was fun to follow along with the investigation and to see how Gabriel's disappearance affected Corina, Robert, and Charlotte. Very well plotted and twist filled. You won't be disappointed.
