The Weekend Retreat by Tara Laskowski

This slow building, suspenseful, and twist filled read kept my interest all the way through. The action inside the house was mirrored by the storm outside. I really liked that the house had such a storied history. Very well done.

What Waits In The Woods by Terri Parlato

 

 I loved this suspenseful and intricately plotted read. I was drawn into the search for Kara's killer. Rita's more objective perspective was an interesting counterpoint to Esme's personal perspective. Jaw dropping twists added another exciting dimension to the story.

The Vacation by John Marrs

 

 This book was impossible to put down! The diversity, backgrounds, and secrets of the people at hostel made them extremely fascinating. The most exciting aspect of the novel was that nothing is as it seems. I loved it so much that I felt sad for it to end.

The Handyman Method by Nick Cutter and Andrew F. Sullivan

 

 A disturbing, insane, grotesque and wild ride! Like nothing I have ever read before. Every time I thought I had guessed what was actually going, there was another twist to throw me off track. I really enjoyed not knowing what to expect.

The Engagement Party by Darby Kane

 

 I adored this suspenseful and action packed read! Having the setting on an isolated island dramatically increased the tension between the characters. I was breathless with anticipation over what would happen next. Darby Kane is a master of her craft.

Perfect Little Lives by Amber and Danielle Brown

 

 I found this suspenseful and intense thriller impossible to put down! I loved being along for the ride during Simone's investigation into her mother's murder. Simone is stubborn, tough, and full of heart which makes her very endearing. The twists were exciting and jaw dropping. An excellent read!

The Fiction Writer by Jillian Cantor

 

 A suspenseful and action packed Gothic thriller! Everything you think you know is wrong in the most delightful way. Intrigue, passion, secrets and lies make this a story that you won't be able to put down until the very last page.

Where He Can't Find You by Darcy Coates

 

  A visceral horror story which really gets under your skin! Not for the faint of heart. There were parts of this story which caused me to feel a real sense of dread. The mythology surrounding the Stitcher really helped ratchet up the tension. There were many twists with a very satisfying finale.

Little Boy Lost by J. D. Trafford

 

This book was very well written! The characters seemed to jump off the page. It was easy to get caught up not only in their story but also what was taking place in St. Louis. The legal aspects of the novel made it even more engrossing.

All We Could Still Have by Diane Barnes

 

 I loved this beautiful, poignant, heartbreaking and hopeful read! I loved how much the main characters learned and grew throughout the story. I can't wait to read more books by this excellent author!

When I'm Dead: Black Harbor #3 by Hannah Morrissey

 

Wow, this book was phenomenal! Both the literal and figurative darkness of Black Horror added greatly to this atmospheric read. All of the main characters were wonderfully complex and I enjoyed every minute spent with them. This mystery was expertly plotted which kept me glued to the page. I look forward to reading the first two books.

Murder In The Family by Cara Hunter

 

 I have very mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand I really liked the mystery, the twists and the overall but I strongly disliked the format. I love true crime series but I prefer to watch it instead of reading a teleplay. The instant messages, the emails and the discussion added to the story.

People To Follow By Olivia Worley

 

 This book was phenomenal! The isolated location and trying to guess who was behind it all made it a really fun read! All the different personality types in close proximity helped to increase tension. I couldn't put this book down!

Christmas Presents by Lisa Unger

 

 

 I loved this delightfully fun and wild read! Lisa Unger is an expert at weaving together various plot points into a very compelling story which moves along at a satisfying pace. Once you pick up this book, you won't want to put it down.

Time Roller by Andre Gonzalez ( Arielle Lucila Book #4)

 This book was an exciting thrill ride of read that grabbed me by the throat and never let go! With each mission Arielle, Felix and Selena become more efficient working together. I liked that the setting was a small town because it made the story even more personal. I was completely floored by the final reveal! The ending was really heartfelt! I can't wait to read book 5!

Here Lies Olive by Kate Anderson

 

I loved the supernatural aspects of this engaging YA horror read! The dark tourism aspects of the town were fun to read. I was immediately invested in Olive's story. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next. This is Kate Anderson's first book. I can't wait to read her next novel!

Secrets Never Die by Vincent Ralph

 

I loved this exciting and intense read! The characters were jumped off the page and the twists kept coming. Vincent Ralph is really adept at weaving a really complex story which maintains momentum all of the way through. You won't be able to put this book down! 

The Neighbors We Want by Tim Lane

 

 I enjoyed this read but I wish that it hadn't taken so long for some thrilling to happen. The neighborhood itself was interesting as well as the people in it. I enjoyed the eclectic cast of characters The last 10% of the book was by far the most exciting.

Reykjavik: A Crime Story by Ragnar Jonasson and Katrin Jakobsdottier (translated by Victoria Cribb)

 

 This Nordic noir read was outstanding from start to finish! The Icelandic setting and the 80s time period made the story that much more exciting. All of the characters from main to secondary were very well developed. A disappearance which had remained unsolved for 30 years was fascinating! I will end here because I don't want to give anything away. This is one book that you won't be able to put down!

Spare by Prince Harry

 

 A very moving, eye opening and fascinating memoir! I really enjoyed learning more about Prince Harry. Unflinching and honest.

Haunted: Mother Death( Haunted Book #5) by Lee Mountford

 

 I loved every minute of this wild ride of a read! I was able to easily follow the story despite not having read any other books in the Haunted series. Lee Mountford's detailed and visceral descriptions of Mother Death, the children and the demon were terrifying! I look forward to reading the other entries in this wonderful series!

Dark Corners- Rachel Krall, Book #2 by Megan Goldin

Another outstanding entry in the Rachel Krall series! The twists, the suspense and the fascinating influencer convention made this book impossible to put down! I can't wait for Rachel Krall, book #3!

Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen

 

 Words can't describe how much I loved this exciting and emotional read! The relationship between mother and daughter was interesting complex. The main characters were so well defined that they jumped off the page. I couldn't put this book down and the final twists at the end were shocking in the most delightful way!

The Block Party by Jamie Day

 

 Wow, I couldn't put this exciting thriller down! Having the story told from the point of view of a mother and daughter made for an interesting read. Alton Road is a powder keg waiting to ignite. The twists and the final outcome really took me by surprise!

The St. Ambrose School For Girls by Jessica Ward

 

An excellent thriller a highly sympathetic main character. Sarah's mind is delightfully complex. The isolation of St. Ambrose heightens the suspense. I loved Sarah's friendship with Strots! Expect the unexpected.

The Woods Are Waiting by Katherine Greene

 

 A delightfully creepy thriller! Hickory Woods is a character in it's own right because so much of the story is tied around or within its depths. The fascinating and complex cast of characters invites the reader to learn more. I wasn't able to put this book down!

Before She Finds Me by Heather Chavez

 

 This thriller was exciting and suspenseful! I loved that it focused on two strong and resilient women. You will be captivated from page one!

What The Neighbors Saw by Melissa Adelman

 

I loved this twist filled and suspenseful read! The well developed characters jumped off the page. Sometimes the most affluent neighborhoods hide the darkest secrets. A real page turner!

The Three Deaths of Willa Stannnard by Kate Robards

 

 I loved this fast paced and riveting thriller! It was really fun journeying along with Sawyer as she went about solving the two mysteries central to this story. The revelations at the end were especially surprising.

The Whispers by Ashley Audrain

 

  I was completely blown away by this book! Audrain, expertly juggles the intersecting plot lines of the mothers in this story. So many jaw dropping moments. I was wrong every time I thought that I had things figured out. The epilogue was inspired inspired, wow!

The Revenge List by Hannah Mary McKinnon

 

 A cleverly plotted thriller which will grabs you and doesn't let go! Frankie's tendency to be her own her worst enemy made her relatable and sympathetic. Her backstory was incredibly harrowing. The twist this story took toward the end was especially surprising. This novel was a joy to read!

Allergic: Our Irritated Bodies In A Changing World by Theresa MacPhail

 

 A fascinating and expertly researched exploration of allergies. I especially enjoyed the interviews with allergy sufferers and experts. I'm an allergy sufferer and enjoyed learning more about this topic.

Camp Zero by Michelle Min Sterling

 

 

 I loved this exciting dystopian read! I really enjoyed the strong and resilient female characters in this story. The twists took me by surprise. The book ends on a hopeful note.

 

Somewhere On Maui by Toby Jane

 

 I loved this sweet and engaging read! The descriptions of Hawaii were so vivid that I could feel the sand between my toes, see the beautiful sunsets and smell the ocean. Such a wonderful escape! Every moment was a treat to be savored!

WhiteSpace Season One by Sean Platt & David Wright

 

 

 Wow, what a wild read! I loved every moment of it! I loved the characters and all of the weirdness. So many questions that I look forward to being answers in season two and season three!

This Is The Way The World Ends by Jen Wilde

 

I loved this fast paced and exciting read! Waverly is such an endearing and strong character! I loved experiencing the entire story from her perspective. I will always champion the outsider. Very well done!

The Marriage Act by John Marrs

 

This dystopian thriller was outstanding! I really like that it alternated between several points of view. Reading this book reminded me of an much more detailed and nuanced episode of The Twilight Zone. I found the near future Britain of the novel disturbing, appalling and fascinating. This is one read which was impossible to put down!

The Dutch Orphan by Ellen Keith

 

 Reading this book was very eye opening as I hadn't really know anything about the German occupation of The Netherlands during WWII. There were many parts which were hard to read because they were so heartbreaking and horrendous. I loved how the bond between friends, family, and citizens was really emphasized. This novel impacted me deeply.

This Delicious Death By Kayla Cottingham

 

  I loved this Young Adult dystopian read! I really liked the idea of a virus causing people to turn into ghouls. I loved the entire the mythology of the Hollowing. This book was a lot of fun to read and I really enjoyed all of the twists that were thrown in.

The Perfect Ones by Nicole Hackett

 

 

 I loved the complex characters and twists in this enjoyable story! Each social media influencer was obsessed with presenting a certain persona to their followers. It was interesting to delve below the artifice to their true thoughts, feelings, and motivations. Very well done!

Homecoming by Kate Morton

 

 

 I loved this epic read! The author's detailed descriptions of locations made me feel like I was experiencing them with her characters. The story was complex, heartbreaking, dramatic and engaging. The twists left me breathless. Very well done!

Reading this book was pure joy! I never knew what to expect next! There were so many twists that I never knew what to expect next. The setting and the characters were outstanding! I'm only sad that it had to end because I could have kept on reading more.

Dirty Money: Arielle Lucila book #3

 

  This book was so exciting! I loved the idea of Selena and Arielle going undercover! Their dynamic is more like siblings than merely coworkers like in the first two books. Their banter made me laugh out loud at times.There were a couple of twists which really surprised me. I can't wait to see where Andre Gonzalez takes this entertaining series next!

 I loved this unique horror story! There were twists that I didn't see coming. Very well done and unnerving.

No More Secrets (No More #3) by Kerry Lonsdale

 

 Wow, Lucas' story was intense, raw and very moving! It was interesting to see events from Lucas' perspective. The tremendous growth experienced by Lucas throughout this novel was wonderful to read. An excellent ending to the Carson family saga.

The Ghost Junkies by Elizabeth J. Rekab

 

 I absolutely loved this very entertaining and funny read! There was a lot of dialogue which made me laugh out loud. I really enjoyed all of the pop culture references. This is one book that you won't want to miss!

Suburban Monsters: Thirteen Tales of Terror by Christopher Hawkins

 

 

 There were some short stories in this collection which I really enjoyed but there were more that left me disappointed. I was hoping that I would enjoy more of the stories.

The Last Carolina Girl by Meagan Church

 

I felt so many emotions while reading this very poignant, heartbreaking, wonderful and beautiful story! I couldn't put this book down! I look forward to reading the next book by this excellent debut author!

The Drift by C.J. Tudor

 

  A fast paced post apocalyptic horror story. I've always enjoyed books where desperate desperate groups of characters must work together in order to survive against insurmountable odds. This book has a lot of action, excitement and many surprises along the way. Very well done.

The Angel Maker by Alex North

 

 This book was very suspenseful and engrossing. The story is much more complex than it appears at first which made it even more exciting. Very well executed with a conclusion that readers won't want to miss.

 Wow, this book completely blew me away! Nadine is an expert at maintaining the facade of the perfect hostess and dutiful daughter while hiding so much below the surface. This is a party that the reader won't soon forget.
