Wake Up by Brooke De Lira

 

 Wow, what an excellent read! It was so nice to go back to Shy Harbor.  This story is different from any I have read in the past which I loved.  Multiple twists took the story in new and fun directions. The ending was a joy to read.

The Mother Next Door by Tara Laskowski

 

I could not get enough of this book!  The secrets, the drama, backstabbing, and manipulations within this group of five women was such a treat to read.  The countdown to Halloween Block party was a nice touch as was Alice's Halloween playlist at the end. 

Immune: A Journey into the Mysterious System That Keeps You Alive by Philipp Dettmer

 

 I loved this fascinating book! The author made it easier to grasp the complexities of the immune system by using comparisons which were easy to understand. I never felt bogged down while reading this book. This book was very well done.

The Last House On Needless Street by Catriona Ward

 

The story within these pages at first seems to be fairly straightforward but completely veers off in very unexpected directions.  I found my feelings about Ted shifted throughout the book.  The ending was a nice surprise.  I won't say more than that because I don't want to spoil the book for other readers.

The Only Child by Mi-Ae-Se0

 

 I really enjoyed this unnerving read! The author expertly showed the parallels between the child and the killer.  I found the child's story more compelling than that of the murderer because I really like creepy kids in novels.  I look forward to reading the sequel to this story.

The 13th Key (Dragonscale #1) by Sarah Fisher

 

This was such an excellent read! I was sad to see it end. I loved the unique world that the author created! The cast of characters were very entertaining. I look forward to reading the other two books in this marvelous series!

Her Perfect Life by Hank Phillippi Ryan

 

 This was a slow burn and it took me a little while to get into the story. I found the story more interesting once I learned more about Cassie. The twist at the end is one that I didn't see coming. I wish the ending could have been different but I understand why it had to be end that way.
